I wound up looking for a new host, and could not have found HostBuddy at a better time. My previous host's reliability was going downhill rapidly, and so far I have had very reliable and quick web server response time. The fact that I have not needed to utilize tech support, all by itself earns the extra 5 star rating, and as well shows that the service is in fact reliable, priced very well, and is a perfect solution for my wordpress site.

I have been trying HostBuddy on free trial and the experience I got is awesome. The support team is always there for me whenever I need them, I never experienced any problem. The control panel is great too and you won't need rocket science to know it. I can manage my website so easily even make a few changes without resubmitting the whole bundle again. HostBuddy is the best.

I am a developer have been using HostBuddy.com for two months now to host a new website I created. I needed an mySQL database with my website. I am just getting started, so I am not really bringing any money in yet. I want a hosting plan that is inexpensive. So far, my experience with them has been good. I have been able to figure out all of their tools and the website has been up and running. I have made changes to the website and data several times and uploaded the changes without a problem. I am going to stick with them for now.

I've been evaluating HostBuddy for the past two months. I've found that the service is great and that the value that they offer is worth every penny that we pay. Highly recommendable service. I honstly don't know how they did it with such a low price, but they are definately the best hosting company I've used so far.

Provides you with a more efficient way to edit /etc/hosts files on your Mac without having to use the Terminal application via a user-friendly interface
Host files, also knows as 'hosts' are simple text document files that are used by OS X to map hostnames and IP addresses. Commonly, host files are also used to override DNS servers, or to block access to malicious or malware filled websites by pointing to an unused IP address.
Makes working with the Terminal.app for host file editing seem redundant
Popularly, host files are edited with the help of the Terminal.app: simply open the Terminal.app, prompt the 'sudo nano /private/etc/hosts' command, use the arrow keys to navigate to the bottom of the host file, make your modification, save changes with the help of 'CTRL + O', exit nano mode by pressing 'CTRL + X', and you're all set.
Sure you can do the trickery described above and manually edit /etc/hosts files with the help of the Terminal, but there's an ever faster and easier way available.
Effortlessly and quickly manage your Mac's host files
To your aid comes Hostbuddy, a streamlined and user-friendly OS X application that aims to make editing and managing /etc/hosts files on your Mac seem like a walk in the park.
Basically, it makes it very easy for you to add host entries without having to use the Terminal while allowing you to turn on or off the host groups with only one click, so you can block or redirect websites, and easily switch between staging and production servers.
User-friendly and intuitive host file manager for the Mac
Besides the fact that it enables you to manage host files more easily, another worth-mentioning reason to use Hostbuddy is the fact that it doesn't overwrite your Mac's original and existing /etc/hosts file, therefore, when you quit the application, everything will revert back to its original state, no hassle what so ever.
Due to its simple interface represented only by a top toolbar, a browsing panel in the left side, and an editing panel in the middle, working with Hostbuddy is very easy as you only need to edit the host file, click the 'Apply Changes', and then the 'Flush Cache' button.
Makes it a breeze to edit /etc/hosts files
All in all, Hostbuddy proved itself to be a very reliable and easy to use OS X host editor that should definitely have its own place on your Mac if you are interested in the advantages brought by working with host files.
